The famous game maker Nintendo Co Ltd will be joining hands with the ad agency Dentsu Inc to start up a video distribution service through the Wii console. Such steps have been initiated only for the purpose of establishing a new revenue stream (according to the Nikkei business daily).

The initial ‘game plan’ or the initial strategy of the two firms is to offer cartoons and other such entertainment programmes specifically created for the new service, to set it apart from other online content delivery operations, which of and on offer existing programmes.

Also according to the Nikkei business daily, it is expected that Nintendo and Dentsu will be starting the new service early next year in Japan, and later on it will launch the same service overseas as the year continues.

Speaking of the device itself, the Wii console which features a amazing motion-sensing controller that almost looks like a TV remote, has been far, and I mean FAR outselling Microsoft Corp’s Xbox 360 and Sony Corp’s PlayStation 3.
