Solar powered cell phone by Samsung

According to sources, Samsung’s ‘blue earth’ is the first ever solar powered full touchscreen phone to enter the market with the supporting objective of environment protection.
Samsung mobile has done extremely well when it comes to environment protection. ‘Blue earth’ by Samsung is made from recycled plastic known as PCM, which is basically extracted from water bottles. Samsung mobile also claim that the handset it self and the charger are free from numerous harmful substances such as Brominated Flame, Retardants, Beryllium and Phthalate.

Also, Samsung mobile claim that the mobile comes with unique interface specially designed ‘to draw attention to preserve our fragile environment. Samsung have worked really smart in a way that the option of adjusting the screen brightness, back-light duration and bluetooth to an energy-efficient mode is termed as “Eco mode”. This really adds credentials to their environment saving program.

In addition, Samsung mobile have provided with a feature known as “Eco walk”, which is basically a function which intends to count the user’s steps with a built-in pedometer, calculating how much of CO2 have been reduced by walking instead of traveling in a car or any other automobile.
The new Samsung ‘blue earth’ will be available in the second half of 2009 and till yet not much info on its specs have been provided by Samsung mobile.
