After almost ten long years, Microsoft has decided to bring in a major change to the outlook for its website portal; msn.com. In other words, lesser links and more facebook, Twitter and other social networking tags will now be seen on msn web page.

With such prominent change, Microsoft hopes that more and more users will use the ‘bing‘ search engine. And not to forget, Microsoft launched Bing in 2009 as an alternative to Google’s search engine.

The new web page is redesigned in such a way that the logo of msn looks quite similar to that of Bing. Msn’s senior director says that half of the users who come online start their tasks or related work by using msn website.

Also according to the Microsoft Director, internet users need a simple and user friendly web site which has updated information along with services which benefit users the most.
The new look of msn.com will be available for general users by 2010. The re-designed has categorized links into 5 groups. These include news, entertainment, sports, business and life style.

It is also heard that brands like Fox Sports and MSNBC will also share info with the new msn web page. So we should wait patiently till we ourselves experience the new msn web page.

I do not like the new look either, maybe there should be an option if people want to switch back to the original one. I will probably stop using MSN homepage altogether because it is not very practical as it is now. =C

I don’t like the new format, it takes way too long to load and the page is too “Busy” and disorganized. I’ve been using MSN as my homepage since 2004, but, I don’t intend to continue with this new format. We should have the choice whether to use the new [and improved?!?] or keep the old.

Hey MSN…Sometimes things are better off left alone! [enough said]
