SSDs or Solid State Drives are by no means a new phenomenon but as of yet have limited exposure in the market. USB 3.0 has been around for a while now but as with Solid State Drives (SSDs) there has been a dearth of products and those that are available are still beyond the reach of the average consumer. Belkin recently released USB 3.0 Superspeed products including a PCIe card, cables and also a Superspeed USB 3.0 Expresscard for use with laptops. SanDisk meanwhile are starting to ship 60 GB and 120 GB G3 SSD to North America and Europe.

Ever since the Internet has been made available on hand-held devices such as cellphones, PDAs and smart phones, people have been lamenting about how horribly long it takes to open up pages on your phone or how much bandwidth it takes or how they don’t display the pages properly and so on. These days one finds mobile browsers such as the Android browser, Firefox for Mobile, Opera Mobile, Safari on the iPod and iPhone, Skyfire etc which are all quite capable of displaying a web page almost as well as any regular Internet browser.

Social networking has been around for a while and one of the earliest examples is perhaps Geocities (which is now sadly defunct except for Geocities Japan). Facebook on the other hand is a social networking site (SNS) that has been on the up and up for these past few years. Now with almost 400 million users worldwide and easily available to anyone with any device that can connect to the internet, it is no surprise that one of the first things people try to access on new mobile phones is their Facebook profile.
