Samsung is leading the smartphone sales in the third quarter of 2011, interestingly it has taken over apples iPhone in order to go at the top. Meanwhile both of the companies have compiled several lawsuit infringements over each other. Due to the rise in sale of Samsung’s smartphone this year, a bitter rivalry between apple and Samsung have evolved. In past Samsung use to develop microchips for apple but it is not the case any more due to the newly evolved rivalry.

Rise in sale of Samsung’s smart phones are that they are cheap compare to apple iPhone 4s. There are plenty of phones to select with different operating systems. Even there most expensive phone Samsung galaxy S II is cheaper then the iPhone 4S.

Currently Samsung is developing Windows based mobile phones as well as android based smart phones, that’s why it is quite harsh to compare the sales of Samsung smart phone over apple’s iPhone 4s. Seeing the percentage share of operating system in mobile phone market apple’s iOS is doing great.

Decline in the sales of iPhone in the third quarter is mainly due to the reason that apple didn’t release its iPhone 5 for which people were waiting for quite a long time. There decision to release iPhone 4s instead iPhone 5 was a major set back for the company. Things may change quite soon in the second quarter of 2012 as apple is considering the launch of iPhone 5 with iPad 3.

Kindle for the web is a site where you can read and share Book Samples without having to leave your browser. Amazon.com today introduced “Kindle for the Web” , which will make it all the more easier for you to search for books and various authors by sampling Kindle Books without having to do any installation or downloading, directly through web browsers.

All of this is only a click away, when you view the option “Read first chapter FREE”, all you do is click and the first chapter of the book you have chosen will. Not only that, you can adjust the format of the book as you please, the font, its size, colour, background, all of it. It doesn’t end here, you can then share the book sample with your friends, colleagues, acquaintances through Twitter, Facebook and email.

According to Dorothy Nicholls, Director, Amazon Kindle, “With Kindle for the Web, it’s easier than ever for customers to sample Kindle books – there’s no downloading or installation required, also Kindle for the Web is a great way for bloggers and authors to promote books on their websites by letting visitors read a chapter without leaving their site.”Kindle for the Web will soon include new features for mobile browsers.

The concept of virtual reality goggles has been in conversation for some time. And now a company named Myvu, have practically applied that concept. the exceedingly sleek looking crystal set is now the hottest deal in town.

Currently Myvu is offering 3 models of such nature and each of them are effectively a pair of sunglasses with two miniature screens in them which the human eyes interpret them as a single screen.

This particular model has a very neat layout and considering the kind of technology it carries with itself, it is not too bulky and definitely not too heavy. The glossy black headset with springing ear buds from its arms surely demands a second look.

The built-in resolution of the screen is 640 x 480, which in other words mean you can easily forget about high definition. But as far as picture quality is concerned, it is not too bad if you manage to keep the glasses in perfect position on your nose.

In terms of sound quality, the built in ear buds do a satisfying job of bringing the any on going audio track back to life. Overall, the $220 device for some time surely does excite you but still there are some flaws that need to be fixed.

If you are looking for something ‘extraordinare’, need not to look elsewhere. Etymotic presents the $150 hf5 earphones to rock your ears. Yes its not cheap, but from here you can decide if it’s more than you need and spend less or up the ante to a higher-end product.

Almost every other company producing headphones has a model of such class but the Etymotic Research have made it clear that their new 5th generation high fidelity earphones are different in real terms.

The hf5 provides up to 35db of noise isolation and have a frequency response or 20-16KHz and 16Ohms (nominal) independence. Also it comes with a four feet long cord and weighs almost under 0.5oz.

hf5′s general appearance is not much different from the company’s previous model, hf2 but they don’t have an in-line button or microphone. Basically the hf5 kit includes two sets of flanged tips, small standard soft foam that almost all manufacturers use.

In all, the hf5 earphones are a solid product and carry a god value. Therefore, it is the least expected that you regret spending $150 on such product.

No we are not crazy and this is USD and not some other currency either. Clearly there has to be a good reason for such a price. Well so think Mitsubishi having launched the world’s first laser powered television. Although a bit late (originally slated for 3rd quarter of 2008 release), it still comes in as the world’s first. There are quite a few features that make this interesting, shall we say.

Firstly, and possibly most importantly in an era where energy costs are at an unexpected high and expected to rise more if anything, Mitsubishi claims that this LaserVue TV consumes a third of the energy required for LCD TVs and a fourth of that required by plasma TVs. It is rated at 135 Watts, which is frankly speaking less than some of the 21″ CRT TVs of yore.

Next, the Mitsubishi LaserVue TV has the ability to produce twice the colors of LCD TVs as claimed by Mitsubishi. This is in addition to having a wall mountable frame that is about tenish inches thick.

It has a 1080p display and 4 HDMI inputs and is also capable of producing 3D images (3D spectacles are not included). Furthermore source devices must also be capable of producing 3D images (game consoles for example can do so).

All in all, not a bad package, but the price effectively removes it from being considered. The fact is it is the first of its kind and therefore has a high premium attached. We expect that as competitors respond with similar products, prices for laser TVs will start falling to something more reasonable. Furthermore, one should always wait for second generation products because the first generation almost always has bugs and quirks that need to be worked out.
