Instant Messanger App of Facebook launch for Android and iOS

While going though my Google reader today , I found out that Facebook has just announced their new application for Android and iOS device called “Messenger”.When I read this name for the first time I thought this app would be for chatting purpose only but when I installed this app on my Android phone I found out that the purpose of this app this to send and receive messages from your Facebook friends.

The interface of this app is different from Facebook for Android as its interface is design specially for messaging purposes.In this app you can check your all the message conversation and also create further messages too.

Messenger is a separate app, so it only takes one click to get to your messages or send a new one. Messages are delivered through notifications and texts, so your friends are more likely to get them right away.

You can use Messenger to reach all of your friends — whether they’re on Facebook or in your phone contacts. All you have to do is type the person’s name.

This app is also integrated with the chat feature with I think chat would also appear as Instant message in this app but you would have no problem continuing you chat this way.You can also create group chat or group messages , share photos or share your location with this app.

The application is available for free on App Store and Android market.

I think anybody who knows about Smartphones and Android would surely agree with me that Android has more number of Apps than any other application store in the world. Although Apple’s app store has good number of apps but the still Android numbers are greater.And just following this pattern Nissan has launched their version of Android app for Nissan Leaf.

With this app people who have Nissan Leaf and have Android would be able to monitor their car’s battery life and it can also estimate your driver range with current battery.For those who dont know about Nissan Leaf is is 100% electric car so thats why this app would allow to keep track of the battery life so that you never have to switch to other optional fuels.

This app also allows you to remotely charge your Leaf and also you can start your cars air condition with it.You may not think that this app too much amazing but still this app would be helpful for those who own Nissan Leaf.I think this app would get good number of download as this car has already crossed the sales of 10,000.

Lenovoe’s 7-inch Android tablet picture leaked

Lenovo has not launched any tablet in the market till now but recently Lenovo announced that in the coming year or half they would both launch their Anroid and Windows 7 tablet.Android tablet was no surprise to us but Windows 7 tablet news was little bit unusual.And now leaked pictures of Lenovo’s has been seen.

As far as I am concerded I never has experience to use any Lenovo product for a good time but one thing is for sure the quality of Lenovo’s products is always high.So , recently Lenovo decided to announced their first Android products as announced Lenovos ideaPad K1 and ThinkPad which will not be launching soon but they though announcing their tablet could be good for them.

But most recently a picture of Lenovo’s Android tablet has been leaked which is not ideaPad K1 not ThinkPad. This tablet was not seen before so maybe they are working or experimenting on another Android tablet.The tablet spotted in the picture is of 7inch and not much more info could be spotted from these picture but it is for sure that it is not K1 or ThinkPad.

Skype 2.0 for Android released which brings two way video calling to Nexus S, Desire S, Xperia Neo and Xperia Pro

Looks like team at Skype is working hard as some days ago they released Skype for iPad and today they have released Skype 2.0 for Android and the most important new feature in this update is two way video calling for Android.

Not all the Android phones will get this feature of two way video calling, definitely the phone should first have front facing camera for that. But not even all the Android phones with front facing camera will have the two way video calling features with Skype for.The phones which will have this feature are Nexus S, HTC Desire S, Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Neo and Pro.It is expected all the which comes all the Android Phone which come with Android 2.3 will get this feature.But it is disappointing for users who have expensive Android which have Froyo and front facing camera in it but still they would be not able to do two way video calling.

Apart from two way video calling Skype 2.0.0.45 has better UI and support of doing SMS.

Next Nexus Phone seen in the wild

If you know about the Android phone then you would know that Nexus Phones are the benchmark for the next generations of the Android phone and recently Techhog.com has shared a picture of possibly the next generation of Nexus device. And according to them this phone will have Android Ice Cream Sandwich in it which is supposed to be the next generation Android OS for smartphones.

The thing which confirms that this device will have Ice Cream Sandwich is the number of buttons on this device which are none just like the HoneyComb tablets. This phone may have disappearing capacitive buttons which you would be able to see whenever you’re using the phone.

This may be only a test device we can’t be sure that this would be the device which will come to the users. While talking about the manufacturers of the device this time HTC and LG are in contention for making Nexus 3.I think we would hear more about Nexus 3 till the end of this year.

Google to shutdown Google videos later this month

At a time around Google introduced Google videos in order to counter Youtube video sharing service. As Google acquired Youtube later on, but they still sticked to Google videos for no purposeful reason. Seeing the current situation Google have decided to shutdown Google videos. The giant search company have sent out an email warning to its user who have previously uploaded their videos on their video sharing service.

From April 29 Google videos wont be available for users to watch any of the videos. Those who have uploaded videos may however download their videos till 13 May 2011, and Google is encouraging them to put their videos on their alternative video sharing site Youtube.

Google launched their video sharing site on 25th of January 2005, but later on Google acquired Youtube for 1.65 billion in October 2006. By 13th June 2007 Google introduced search results of videos in Google videos. In May 2009 Google videos stopped accepting uploads. And now the search giant have decided to finish the service by deleting all the data in it.

Here is the email sent to Google video users by Google.

Dear Google Video User,

Later this month, hosted video content on Google Video will no longer be available for playback. Google Video stopped taking uploads in May 2009 and now we’re removing the remaining hosted content. We’ve always maintained that the strength of Google Video is its ability to let people search videos from across the web, regardless of where those videos are hosted. And this move will enable us to focus on developing these technologies further to the benefit of searchers worldwide.

On April 29, 2011, videos that have been uploaded to Google Video will no longer be available for playback. We’ve added a Download button to the video status page, so you can download any video content you want to save. If you don’t want to download your content, you don’t need to do anything. (The Download feature will be disabled after May 13, 2011.)

We encourage you to move to your content to YouTube if you haven’t done so already. YouTube offers many video hosting options including the ability to share your videos privately or in an unlisted manner. To learn more go here.

Here’s how to download your videos:

Go to the Video Status page.
To download a video to your computer, click the Download Video link located on the right side of each of your videos in the Actions column.

Once a video has been downloaded, “Already Downloaded” will appear next to the Download Video link.

If you have many videos on Google Video, you may need to use the paging controls located on the bottom right of the page to access them all. Please note: This download option will be available through May 13, 2011.

Android 3.0 Honeycomb Event to be held on 2nd February

We days ago we shared some screenshots of Android 3.0 Honeycomb which would be launching soon and it would be specially designed for tablet devices.Its launch is not that far from us as Engadet reports that Google is prepared to shows their latest Android OS which they would do on February 2^ndand they have invited people to join them in this big launch.

It is believed that this time Google will show more what they have shown before as of now they have only shown the hints of the OS but not a lot to show its fully features version.And what challenging is that they would also have to explain why this OS would be different from other and how could it be categorized as a tablet OS.

So , within few days we would find out the future OS for the Android Tablet and I wonder will they have any good plan to compete against the iPad and its amazing apps available at App Store.

Honeycomb Android 3.0 screenshots

iPad was the first device which gave the concept of completely different OS for the tablet rather than running windows of any other OS on them. So , currently Android tablets has Android 2.2 or Android 2.3 in it which are actually designed to the Android smartphones. So , if you don’t know Honey Android 3.0 will come soon and it is specially designed for the tablet devices.

Well we don’t know much about Honeycomb, but today AndroidCentral has shared some screenshots of Honeycomb which reveals the user interface and many other stuff of the upcoming Android 3.0 OS.These Screenshots show the culmination of wandering through the Android 3.0 SDK preview.Things could change till its final release but it would definitely be more like this.

Facebook tops Google as the most visited site in 2010

Facebook surpassed Google for the first time as the most visited website in the United States for most of 2010.

Facebook edged out Google.com with 8.9 percent of all U.S. visits between January and November 2010, while Google.com ranked second with about 7.2 percent of all visits, according to online measurement service Experian Hitwise. Within the span of six years, Facebook has become the world’s largest Web social network with roughly half a billion users worldwide.

Google.com dominated the top spot as the most visited website in the United States in 2009 and 2008. However, when all of Google’s properties are considered — such as YouTube and email, for instance — Google still reigns as the most visited site at 9.9 percent between January and November 2010. Facebook follows at 8.9 percent. Yahoo and all of its properties ranked third at 8.1 percent.

Android 2.3.1 Gingerbread running on Nokia N900

When somebody talks to me about the Nokia phone then I always mention him that I’m not a really big fan of Nokia and the main reason for this is that I don’t like their OS.But I agree that their hardware is one of the better hardware available in the market.And now guys from dailymobile has shared a video showing latest Android OS Gingerbread running on Nokia N900.

The demos of Android running on different Nokia sets are on the internet from past year and it didnt took hackers lot much time to run Gingerbread on latest Nokia phone.The video shows that Android is working very smoothly on N900.

This is an amazing combination and really I like Android on his handset rather then Symbian OS which I found it to be little bit lame.Well may be we can hope some day that Nokia may launch their official Android Phone.
