The new XPS 730x is surely a technology wonder. The Intel Core 2 processors and NIVIDIA 790i Ultra SLI chipset powering the original XPS 730 have been substituted with the new Intel Core i7 processors and Intel’s X58 Express chip-set. However, the XPS 730x hangs on to the original 730′s ability to support both Crossfire and SLI and the latest graphics option.

Remember when we told you that Kingston was releasing a 32 GB USB pen drive? Well those days are long gone, or so Kingston would like us to think for they have just launched the 64 GB version in the same lineup, the DT 150 series. Now 32 GB was according to us almost as big as some hard disk drives but 64 GB is as big as many hard disk drives, especially HDDs located in laptops.

SanDisk recently announced that it could make SSDs (Solid State Drives) up to a hundred times faster (in certain situations, probably means it will still be significantly faster in all other situations). In other news, the long awaited USB 3.0 specs will finally be unveiled at the USB implementers forum on November 17th 2008. No further delays, fingers crossed.

Microsoft aims to provide better implementation of SSD (Solid State Drives) in Windows 7 and intends to discuss how they will make this happen at the upcoming Windows HEC (Hardware Engineering Conference) 2008. Also worthy of news is Mozilla finally implementing a privacy mode in the 3.1 version of their now relatively well known internet browser, Firefox.

Well they are getting better, honest! JPR (Jon Peddie Research) has calculated that there has been about a 22% rise in shipments of GPUs over the previous year for the third quarter of 2008. This is in spite of recessionary fears that have been haunting consumers for some time now. In other news, ATI finally seems to be giving Nvidia something to worry about.
