According to a news report that Google is planning to open 20 new channels on its acquired website Youtube. Google would be spending a $100 million to develop new programs for these channels. Last month netflix announced its own set of streaming channels, now Google is also stepping up to make different shows for the online audience.

According to a news source that the company would be making low budget program, designed specifically for web and youtbe. Other news source have revealed that Google is hunting for some creative minds and top Hollywood talent agencies for creative ideas for their new programs on youtube. Google is likely to end up making deals with different producers ,directors and production company to make content for their youtube programs.

Seeing the whole idea, it now make sense for Google smart TV, any how most of TV boxes like netflix, apple TV and Google’s smart TV have option to surf on Youtube. So seeing new programs with no subscription charges would be great.

Umi is the latest home telepresence system made by Cisco, which uses existing HD TVs and can also work with Google Video Chat. Umi uses a console device, a remote and a camera unit with five microphones, placed on top of the TV.

Cisco` Umi does not only allow talking live with each other but it also makes users to show videos recorded earlier. If a user misses a call, the caller can leave a video message that can be retrieved on the TV, a PC or a mobile phone. There is a shutter on the camera for privacy that can be activated, leaving just audio coming from the home. Consumers who don’t have Umi will be able to participate in the video sessions through Google Video Chat on a PC, at a lower level of quality. No other third-party video services are supported at the moment.

Umi Console device allow users to zoom in on anything they want to show to the people on the other end of the connection, as well as pan the camera from one side of the room to the other and tilt it up and down. Subscribers can use Umi to record a video either to show later over Umi or to upload to YouTube or Facebook. There is no input for external microphones. Using the Umi remote, subscribers control the service through a “clover” interface with a center box and four surrounding icons representing different commands.

Cisco officials say that in addition to buying the equipment and monthly service, users will need to have a broadband service with at least 1.5M bps (bits per second) both downstream and upstream in order to enjoy Umi. Those speeds will deliver 720p video. For 1080p, users will need 3.5M bps both downstream and upstream. When users first set up the system, they will be assigned a unique six-digit number that can be used by other Umi subscribers to call them. After the initial call, each party can add the other to their contact lists, where each contact can be represented by a profile picture.

Umi will cost US$599 for the equipment and $24.99/per month for a service from Cisco. The service will include cloud-based contact lists and stored video. The system can be ordered now and will be available from the 14th of November at the Magnolia high-end electronics stores at Best Buy. Verizon Communications, which has been running trials of the service, will offer it to its home broadband customers early next year.

Other vendors like Panasonic and LG Electronics are also lining up to bring videoconferencing to high-definition TVs. At the International Consumer Electronics Show early this year, Panasonic and LG Electronics announced TVs with embedded Skype software. Panasonic’s offering began shipping in May, and LG has said its product would be available by year’s end. Logitech has also recently introduced HD video calling in its newly announced Logitech Revue with Google TV product.

YouTube is planning to launch the free online movie service and this is happened once YouTube talks with US studios such as Sony Pictures and UK service Blinkbox. We know that YouTube is already offering the TV service just after collaboration with Channel 4 and Channel 5 and today we have more than over 400 titles for free streaming of TV.

Now with the mean of YouTube online service you will able to access the cult films, lesser-known films, classic British films and Bollywood films.

Donagh O’Malley , YouTube head of video partnership says, “This is one of many efforts to ensure that people can find all the different kinds of video they want to see, from bedroom vlogs and citizen journalism reports to full-length films and TV shows,”

It is said that the BlinBox will charge £1.99 for movie and TV shows rental while 165 films will be available free of cost. Then how company will earn? Of course through the revenue which it get via film advertising.

Though, it’s not interesting for all that Youtube has added a new feature that allows users to play famous game “Snake” while video is paused. Or else users can play this video while waiting for their video to be buffered on their 56Kbps connection, so it means this new feature is trying to give you a game for passing your time as it’s hard to wait for your videos and sitting idle on the internet. A great opportunity of wasting your precious time!

Snake was popular game few years back when it made its presentation on handheld Nokia Phones and this game is still entertaining today’s generation. This game was discovered as new Youtube feature some last week, and seems to do no good for the waiting users; of course they don’t want to waste their time playing children’s game. That’s boring too

Maybe Youtube needs to do something in order to accelerate the pace at which their server is working now that will not only save the time of its users but also a fun for them. Youtube offers different feature and functionalities time to time as last week it introduces Yourtube and now it comes with new game feature.

The Ban was imposed by the orders of High Court of Pakistan in May, 2010 on Youtube, Facebook and more on displaying over blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be upon Him). The blackberry users in Pakistan are facing problem for last one month and still cellular service provider companies are charging internet fee from their subscriber. Customer’s are still complaining that they are not able to access the Facebook.

Cellular phone service operators in Pakistan had the stance that they block the services of Youtube, Facebook and other websites on the directives of PTA. BlackBerry phone users can access the internet through GPRs service instead of BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). Services of BIS were stopped on the orders of regulatory authority to block the Blasphemous content on the internet.

According to Research in Motion (RIM) Technology, unable to restore the service as sites placing blasphemous contents are created on regular bases and it’s not possible to stop publishing such sites on net. RIM cannot develop separate system for Pakistan in order to follow the instruction passed by PTA.The cellular service provider companies are charging blackberry subscription charges from their users.

The directives have been issued by government of Pakistan to the concern authorities to monitor the seven social networking web sites like including Google, MSN, Yahoo, Bing, Amazon and YouTube, block the links that contains the blasphemous and anti-Islamic contents.

On Saturday the government committee issued orders to Pakistan Telecommunication authority to monitor the websites and evaluate this social networking website with respect to anti-Islamic content. Apparently, the government committee decided to block 17 lesser known web sites and monitor seven websites that are very well known in the social networking area. Government committee also told concern authorities that informational sites for students should not be blocked.

The episode of blocking YouTube, Yahoo, and Google websites was carried out in lieu of High court order issued by the Bahawalpur bench. High court ordered PTA to block access of 24 social web sites with immediate effect as they are showing contents (blasphemous and sacrilegious contents) that are against the Islamic norms and values.

Last month Pakistan government banned access to the one of the largest social network sites like YouTube and Facebook because of publishing page “Draw Muhammad Competition”. Ban was imposed by Pakistan Telecom Authority on the orders of Pakistan high court. Facebook ban was lifted after two weeks.

Now once again, Pakistan Court orders PTA to block access on the nine websites as they are presenting and showing blasphemous material against the Muslim values and norms. One of the retired civil servant Mr. siddique had put it petition to the court in order to ban the web sites like Yahoo, Google, YouTube and Facebook as they are exposing Islamic material that’s totally wrong and against the Islamic values. On the petition Mr. Mazhar Iqbal ordered to block the access of websites to PTA. PTA has not blocked the access of mentioned websites as they have not get any orders from communication ministry in sequence of banning the websites, according to the PTA Officials. On the other hand, PTA earlier bans the websites YouTube and Facebook without waiting the ministry orders.

Banning YouTube, Facebook, google, Msn and other remaining sites may create issues for the internet users. It will affect their business, users using search engine for studying and education, email and lots of other productive purposes. According to the ISP official, court has nothing to do with the technical issues, let PTA to resolve such technical problems and issues.

On 19th May 2010, yesterday Pakistan high court ordered PTA to block Facebook temporarily because of the competition related to the comics/cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. The YouTube web site was also blocked back for two days in 2008 due to the reason, having contents which were against the Islamic values. YouTube has not given any comments / response towards it. PTA had blocked more than 450 internet links that contains material against the Islamic values, online encyclopedia site Wikipedia and the photo sharing site Flickr was also blocked.

In Pakistan, internet providers had been ordered by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to stop broadcasting YouTube and Facebook web sites any more with in Pakistan. PTA has taken action against YouTube and Facebook after they were not able to convince the Websites authorities to stop showing and removing the “Derogatory material”, according to the PTA officials. Authority will welcome the officials from the two Websites to resolve the issue and give surety to the PTA that in future they will not host any thing against the Islamic values and norms.
